Puzzled
Logan likes puzzles. He started playing with them about a year ago. Back then it was "easy" wooden kind. The ones where each piece is a full shape - a whole car, a train, or something - and it had a little red knob for you to hold on to.Then he had a wooden puzzle that was more like the tradional ones - one big image broken into pieces. Of course the board itself also had the puzzle picture on it and there were only about 8 pieces total.
Now he's into 'real' jigsaw puzzles. He has eight of them as of today - three at Grandma's and five here. Each puzzle has roughly 24 pieces, which combined make a cartoon-ish picture. The ones we bought today have Seasame Street and Disney charaters on them. At first he needed a lot of help completing a puzzle. Now he just thinks he needs a hand.
"You want to do my puzzle with me?" he'll ask, but if you don't come help fast enough he'll have it completed without you.
Recently he was came across those old wooden puzzles. He pushed them aside saying "Oh, these are too easy for me. I'm a big boy now." And he's right. They are and he is. The new puzzle I gave him yesterday was completed in less than 15-minutes -- all on his own. It was the very first time he'd seen it. We're thinking maybe its actually time for those needle in the haystack variety. ;)
