All About the Boy!

This and That

Its been a busy few days in the life of Logan, so we'll just do a smattering of topics under one great big heading.

Trains
Although we'd taken Logan to see the train at Allaire State Park previously he did not remember the visit. Since he's still smitten by the locomotive, we decided to take him back yesterday. He was a bit unsure at first - not quite sure he wanted to sit on this thing long enough for the maybe 10-minute trip. Once we got moving however, he loved it - chanting "Whoooo-whoooo!" along with the train whistle and "clickey-clack" to the sound of the wheels running over the rails. We sat up on the upper level of the caboose and watched the engine keep just ahead of us. Once we got off he was begging to go again. Watching him rub his ever heavier eyes, we decided not to push our luck of a good, stroller riding mood much further and skipped the walk through the rest of the village. We ate a makeshift lunch of soft pretzels and Goldfish crackers while we watched the train take other lucky kids around -- all the while Logan asking ot go on the train again or, if not that train, that we take him to the "boardwalk" to ride that train.

Pretty things
Friday Logan went shopping with Mom, Gram and Papa. We stopped at the Talbots store so Gram could use her certificate for a free t-shirt. Logan walked through the store first with Papa then with me admiring the clothes on display.

"Pretty clothes," he said as I carried him through the racks.

"Yup, that is a nice skirt isn't it?" I agreed.

Logan looked at me and smiled a big sweet smile "My mommy pretty."

"Awww, thank you Logan," I said quite mushy hearted over hearing him say this.

Then he smiled again, patted his chest and said "Logan pretty too."

Keeping the dogs in line
Poor Tasha and Sydney must regret that their little 'puppy' has found his voice. Apparently accustomed to hearing either dog scolded for something like being in the flower beds or jumping on someone, Logan is more than willing to step in and reprimand. He can be found in the backyard wagging his little finger at his pet shouting: "Ta-ta (Tasha) get out of flowers now!" For what its worth, Tasha now recognizes her new name and will actually listen to him once in a blue moon -- which is about as often as she listens to anyone else. Tasha also gets scolded often about Logan's food. He sits high in his chair leaning over looking down at her and yells "Tata, no eat my cheese!" Sydeny will hear Logan reprimand her "Sydney, get down. No jumping!" or "Leave baby alone!" (Refering to himself.)

Of course he'll also go over to either dog, pat them gently on the back and say "Pet nice. Good dog."
